ERIKSON'S DAYLILY FARM PART 4

Ooops I forgot to add myself to Mosaic Monday over at Little Red House. Visit Mary to enjoy all the creative artistic mosaics.

This is my last post for Erikson's Daylily Garden. These close ups are from the Erikson's site and I am using them here with permission from Pam Erikson who will probably be pleased that I am finally spelling her name correctly. Sorry Pam.

Now with names like Dirty Old Broad, Crotchless Panties and Isobel's Hot Flash you will see these are not your everyday yellow daylilies.
I think Pam is a bit of a character don't you?

    Hello Lori E

    I have never seen such shades of day lilies. We have them here but they are usually loud and raucous yellow orange and red...like many of the other tropical plants...
    Some even look more like orchids..

    Mornin' Lori...

    My friend, I just had to check out all of the posts you did on all of these fabulous day lilies! All of the lilies are simply divine!!! I had no idea that there were so many different varities...I see that they had some fun naming some of their hybrids...hehe! Your photo mosaics are so beautiful...I kept looking through all the different lilies...trying to choose a favorite and finally gave up! Each lily is just magnificent...ohhhh, all the different colors!!!

    I went back and visited each post that you did on these beautiful gardens...I would just love going there...but sheeeshhh BC is sooo far away! Hehe! Thank you so much for sharing all of your photos...at least I was able to take a virtual tour...thanks to you!!!

    I say yay for these names! If you have the talent to hybridize a day lily, then you should be able to call it something catchy..and these are terrific, not easily forgotten monikers.I would love to see their full Latin classification published. It would make some of these stuffy horticulturalists take notice!

    How WONDERFUL to see so many varieties of Daylilies....I'm afraid to buy too many more because of the need to thin them and I'm already running out of friends to share with. But there are some glorious varieties here...hmmmmm, maybe I need to start stopping at random homes with few flowers and offer to plant what I need to divide. Thank you so much for sharing. I now need to go check out your other posts to see some more.

    Ok... really? "Crotchless Panties"? Just about choked on my coffee with that one! hahahaha too funny! Adore some of those names - gardeners really do have dirty minds ;)

    Great mosaics, but honestly, I couldn't get past that one name! Love it!!
