You are so lucky and blessed to have had a person like this in your life and I think he would have been pleased to know that he has indeed influenced you to write again. And although he didn't part with his books until after his death, he must have been happy to know that you wanted them.

Wonderful post!

xoxo
JaneBlondie's Journalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12988377413260331618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6259236724941582496.post-52088315050652416282010-01-16T09:56:47.419-08:002010-01-16T09:56:47.419-08:00It's wonderful that your Grandfather left such...It's wonderful that your Grandfather left such a legacy for you. He does sound like your most influential teacher, both in life and even after his death. And the wonderful gift of his library! How amazing to read his thoughts as he wrote them in the margins. I really loved reading this. It brought back many memories of my grandfather. A completely different type of man, but just as influential in his own way. Thank you so much for sharing this. I love that not only did you get to live with this man and get to know his life and love of the written word but you now get to receive the gifts of his books. Better yet you get all his footnotes too. How better to understand him and to know more about him. About his opinions and thoughts. With these things he is giving you a sketch of himself so in the end he did get to be a sketch artist.Lori Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10775116608698555225noreply@blogger.com
