HATERS GONNA HATE

I recently discovered something very disturbing. Did you know that there are blogs out there that are solely devoted to hating successful bloggers? I am serious. That is all they post about.
They have chosen various bloggers that have a large following and commercial success and they and their readers attack, insult, belittle and criticize everything these bloggers do on a daily basis.
What have these people done to deserve this vitriol? Well let's see.
  • They have created blogs that struck a cord with their readers
  • They have a very large readership
  • They post consistently
  • They make money from their blogs
  • They have other commercial opportunities due to the success of their blogs
  • They have interacted with their blog followers using social media sites
What sorts of brilliant observations do these hacks come up with?
  • Someone is fat
  • People who follow a popular blog are sheeple
  • If you are successful and the media pick up on it you are egotistical and delusional
  • You neglect your family
I don't understand this phenomena and I am disgusted by it. If you don't like a blog don't read it. If you don't like the person who writes the blog move on. If you don't have anything to write about that is not filled with hate then perhaps you should find another outlet for your venom like spitting into the wind or something.
I wish the successful bloggers even more good things for 2013 because success is definitely the best revenge.

  1. Oh my word, how sad that some people have to be so negative. I so agree, if you don't relate to a blog, then move on. Hope you have a super 2013. Hugs, Marty

  2. This type of person is very insecure in his/her own life. They live a very sad life indeed to resort to gaining "popularity" in this manner. BTW- Wouldn't these people's followers be considered ""sheeple?" LOL

  3. Jealousy? About the success of the blog? That they don't feel they have life events and observations worth sharing? Maybe lonely people in real life.
I love good blogs that have a strong following, and am really happy when I magage a post that has a lot of visitors. The only thing I wish I knew is how to encourage more comments--yet I don't comment every time I visit, either.

  4. Ugh....mean girls...well I suppose they are not all girls but still. Why on earth are people like that?

During the Christmas holidays I watched a blog go under attack for her opinions on gun control, she was for it. You would think that she has suggested something so terrible that the world had to beat her into a pulp to stop it.....

If you don't like the blog, leave..you are so right.

  5. I had no idea! How sad that these people feel they need to put down others. But you're right: haters gonna hate!

  6. Some time ago I took the Kind-hearted Blogger Pledge - maybe it's time to revive that idea, and start a protest against these folks!

  7. I wonder how much the on-going recession is fueling some people's Green Eyed Monster. There's always going to be folks who's only pleasure in life is p*ssing on everyone else's parade. That fact that there's a lot more of them may simply be a rather retched reflection of current society.

  8. I feel sorry for people who somehow think they can make themselves feel better by being nasty about others. I follow the blogs I like, I don't follow those that don't "call" to me...end of story. How sad that people spend time like that - I have many, MANY other things to consume my time :-)

  9. Well said Lori. Then there are the "anonymous" haters that leave nasty comments saying all that you mentioned above. I guess that comes with the territory when you put yourself out there for the world to read...
I'm all about being supportive and encouraging other bloggers! Yep, success is the best revenge! ~Delores

  11. My mama taught me to keep my mouth shut if I couldn't say something nice and a lot of people these days could sure benefit from that practice. Seriously, what enjoyment do they get from being so darn mean?

  15. I had no idea this was going on...
    I stick to my peeps...
    And they are loyal...
What the hell is happening that people have to be so vindictive?
    THanks for your visit...
And I appreciate when you visit me...

    Cheers!

  17. Oh my gosh Lori, I did not know that. Luckly I have never ran across a blog such as that. I comment those that make money from their blog. I just made my first $15. lol! I laugh at the amount. I did a featured post only because I believed in it. A blog should be fun and inspirational. So sad that some people have to drag others down.

  18. Well, this is unfortunate, largely for the "haters" who are obviously very unhappy with their lives.

if your are successful in your life people admire or hate you. Hateful bloggers? I started my first blog in 2005 and never encountered any hateful blogger.

  20. That's very sad and disturbing. These people are clearly not satisfied with their own lives, and are trying to distract themselves by criticizing others.
