SNOW? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

When I look in my garden I see lavender in bloom. Fuchsia’s too and still roses and impatiens.

I don’t live in a warm climate. I live in British Columbia. Fall is definitely in the air here. I have had to turn the furnace on already this year but my garden is still full of blooms.

It is somewhat colder up at our cabin though. There is a chill in the air there and leaves are starting to change.

I wonder what is down that road.

Keep going. Follow the tracks.

How great is this spot!!

!cid_9a29eb48-4d79-45ce-b794-3b14cd33c0f8But don’t forget we are up at the cabin. Climb up on your ATV and let’s go for a ride. It doesn’t take long to reach the higher levels and of course some snow in October. Here is my BB Guy.

White, cold slippery snow….in October. Say it isn’t so. Now the locals think this is great. They want more and they want lots. Then it will be time to pull out the snowmobiles and put away the ATVs.

S

It can’t come soon enough for them.

S

One day soon that pile of wood will be the base for a big bonfire I am sure and the snow will be 4 feet deep.

Me??? I will be at home with a warm drink and the furnace on.

I am joining in with Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for  Outdoor Wednesday. Please stop by and visit the other participants.

  1. Well, I'll say it now... the snow is pretty. But I'll probably be cursing it in January! I agree with you, I'm sure the locals are loving it:@)

  2. Yikes snow, didn't the summer just end??

Last winter when we were living in Kamloops we saw very little snow...I loved it! But I am sure this winter back in Ontario I will see the typical 20ft of it! Diane

  7. I would believe so, snow in October, but that's a lot of snow!

I went to Mammoth Lakes, CA three weeks ago to see the autumn leaves, sigh, it snowed the day before we arrived.

    Keep warm!

  8. Hi Lorie,
What a gorgeous site! I'm with you girl, as fas as the snow is concerned. We had a storm that blanketed our entire yard two weeks ago. It melted then went back up into the high 70's. Mother Nature was having a bad day I guess. I love the looks of the fluffy white stuff, but the older I get the more I hate the cold. A warm fire and quilt for me please! Thanks for visiting me. I guess I need to learn to not tell everyone about my favorite spots. Trouble is, I'm like an open book. Have a hard time keeping a good thing hidden. lol! Now following you.

  10. i love the snow....I lived in BC for 44 years.was born and raised on the mainland coast, 350 miles north of Vancouver! Very isolated but a great community. .lived there til I came out here, London, Ontario, 11 years ago! When I retire i will go back, maybe even sooner. I miss the mountains and the ocean! I had the best childhood, travelling all through the back roads, logging roads, all over BC.
Thank you for sharing your pics!
