We celebrated my nephew’s 40th. birthday here tonight.
I remember the day he was born. I was still in high school.
He has always had a special place in my heart. He was my “son” before I had children. He was the son that made me want a son. He holds a place in my heart that is so special and unique.
We had a gathering of his family here. His extended family and a brand new family member who is 5 days old.
So here we were. From 5 days old to 60 years old. We laughed and hugged and reminisced. As always food was an integral part of the gathering. We put out enough food for 3 times the people who were here and yet we still worried about everyone getting enough to eat.
We have marked another milestone. Forty? Five days? Any reason is a good enough reason to get family together and to celebrate.
To my family….I love you all. Y’all come back now, ya hear!
