My friend David has a spinal cord injury. He has invented something so simple and yet so cool. Have a look at this video of David and his wife Rosa (my boss) with his invention.
There is a 20 second ad at the beginning of the clip before the news item begins.
I love this! I'm a disabled person, sometimes I have to use a wheelchair. Often I'm more comfortable sitting in a regular chair, which would work here, too. Go David! PS we bought Wii for the family for Christmas and haven't tried these games yet (the ones that use the floor attachments) but they look like fun.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's such an awesome invention. I gives a little freedom to so many.
ReplyDeleteSWEET!!!! Congrats to David!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the coolest idea! Why Nintendo would not want to pursue this is beyond me. I'm going to share it on Facebook and encourage others to post this. Besides the therapy, the feeling this gives anyone disabled is truly amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea - I really hope that David does well out with this - that'll show Nintendo for not supporting such a fab gadget - Well Done and Good Luck wth it David!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's awesome, and so simple too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if he needs money to make the business work, he could go on Dragon's Den:) I'm get a kick out of that show.
Whether or not the "disabled market" is large enough for significant profits, it's embarrassing that Nintendo couldn't find some way to contribute to the development of this product. Such a shame that we have come to the point where a non-medical company would evaluate people with disabilities by how much of a "market" they provide.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic!!! So cute watching those "boys" get so excited and that one guy...he was SO into it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! There's scope for other developments to help disabled. I have MS but can stay on feet (usually with crutches). To use Wii balance board it would be useful for me to have some kind of frame structure to hold on to - or to grab intermittently. Anybody working on this? By the way my URL is blog of my grandmother's WWII (not Wii) diaries. Keeping active on this project is a great mind diversion from MS symptoms!
