MOVE OVER BLUEBERRIES

Move over blueberries. You have lost top billing as one of the best foods for antioxidants. Yes they are still an amazing little fruit so full of live giving antioxidants that is would make our heads spin. We still love their sweet taste that is like no other.
The new kid on the block is now black rice. Yup. It is that lovely little black grain that turns purple when you cook it. It is bursting with iron, fiber and anthocyanin antioxidants. Anthocyanin antioxidants are found to be promising in the reduction of cancers, heart disease and bad cholesterol. All this in a spoonful of rice. Sounds like something I can get behind.

A spoonful of the rice has more of these benefits than a spoonful of blueberries and is much more affordable and available year round.
I am joining in with Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday. Stop on by and see what is cooking at Michael Lee's

Just having a little fun because I live in the sticks and have never seen it. If it tastes anything like wild rice...I would be a fan! Joni

  9. I have to be honest and tell you, I wouldn't race to give up my blueberries for the rice. Though I do love rice, it doesn't always love me back. It looks good though!! Tammy

  15. Glad to know this, because I don't care for blueberries--unless they're in muffins or pancakes, of course. And that kind of defeats the purpose.

  16. I may have to look in the health food store because the grocery stores do not have this product around here. Interesting- I'm all for trying something new, Lori. You are a wealth of information on all levels!
