SUNDAY FAVORITES - LOCAL GARDEN CENTER

Gosh even when I am reposting a page from the past I am still running late. It is 8 a.m. here but for some of you it is 11:00 so it makes me seem very late in starting.
I am joining in with Chari @ Happy to Design for Sunday Favorites.
This was originally posted last April. Thanks for stopping by and make sure you visit Chari and say hi.

For many years I have been shopping at a local nursery for my gardening needs. Okay lets be honest here. I shop there for the stuff I don't need too. Like the stuff that I want. Like this adorable bunny for Easter.

Look at this amazing burl chair. I can see it sitting in a cottage garden with some big pots of perennials beside it. I am sure if you had a cat that it would be sleeping on it.

We do get lots of spring rains here but we are prepared. Why not look good even when you are working in the garden.
Just look at that colour
I prefer the rustic look below.
Happy, happy, happy.
That is what I love about the garden centers. They make me happy. Whether I am looking at plants or decorative items. They just make my day.

  2. Lots of good stuff here, Lori! I adore the little bunny. Maybe it is because Easter is coming, but I have been on a bunny kick. They don't exactly go with my indoor decor but they're so darn cute! I also love that burl chair, whatever burl is...

I go into a trance in garden centers. One of them at the lake has the neatest pots and birdbaths and you name it, all for great prices (anything is great compared to Chicago!).

Great post for making me more eager than ever for spring! Hope you are having a great weekend. Love your new header!! :-)

    xoxo

  3. I love garden centres, they are always good for a cold Sunday afternoon - especially if you stop for a drink and cake in their coffee shop LOL
Good Luck tomorrow Lori - Relax and have fun.

  6. Oh dear, you've hit on another one of my weaknesses. When my kids were little and I lived in a house, they would sit in the back seat and hold their breathes, hoping the car would not turn in at yet another garden center! I could get lost for hours, soaking in the beauty and tranquility. Now that I live in a condo, all I can seem to grow on my hot balcony are geraniums and herbs. But I still stop and get lost in the gardens when I have a chance.

  7. Oh, yes, garden centers, especially my local favorite, are a major, major attraction for me. Could spend half my life there. And last summer I got my older daughter hooked. (Actually, she asked me if we could do some gardening.) That's what Heaven looks like.

  11. What a fun adventure, I could spend hours at the garden store and never buy anything.

    I love the chair,

And I can't stop laughing about all the cows standing in line to get their brands.

Kind of makes me think of teenages at a tatoo/piercing slaon.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  12. Hey Lori, so that's where you hang out? Great place to go. They were always held up as one of the best around here.

I am posting, [whinging?] tomorrow about all the little locals that have succumbed to close up fever. Here we are waiting and there is nothing open.

  13. I can tell you're looking for spring with this post! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I have to tell you, I'm working on some family history and have just gotten the family tree, posting it on the family blog I wanted to say "Family Tree may contain nuts." It keeps running through my mind and I know it's from reading your blog and the catchy blog title!

  14. Hi Lori ~
I want spring....your pictures are so cheerful !
I have not blogged for a week so I am catching up....I just read
about you going to work - Yeah ! Numbers...that is my world - adding , subtracting , balancing - black and white ! Good luck !
I bring my luch everyday - a great way to save money - I can't believe the people that eat out everyday - the girl I work with buys from the cafe each day and since we balance that account , we
were able to see her expenses for the year - $1200 - enough to buy a nice cruise for 2 ! She now is bringing lunch like me everyday ! Let us know how it goes !
    Hugs ~ Kammy

  15. I do love the stuff made from those big pieces of wood! When we're in Florida, I'm always wanting to drag home all the cypress things but they just don't go in our current house! I thought the bunny was white chocolate! (Always with the food on my mind!)

  16. Hi Lori!

As if I don't have cabin/spring fever bad enough, I look at these photos and I just want to get out in some sunshine and warm weather and play in the gardens! I love just browsing through all the nurseries and looking at the beautiful flowers!

Quote from Veggie Tales which just happens to also be VERY true.

  22. Pretty, pretty! I love to spend the afternoon wandering around the garden center. There are a couple of them around that I just adore. They really help pick me up when I'm in a bad mood. I go just to get ideas, sometimes I buy something but not always!
That glimpse of spring was wonderful for today - it's very rainy and gray. Thank you!
