SANTA COLLECTION #35

In 1907 a young John Webster sent this card to Miss City Rosenmiller, 31 North Duke St. York, Pa.
Now this card has a little back story to it. I did a bit of research on the family and found them both on the 1910 census for York, Pa.  "City" Catherine Rosenmiller and her family on Duke Street still  and John Webster was living a few doors down. She would have been about 8 in 1907 and he would have been about 7 years old. I think there was a bit of a crush going on here. Too cute.

  1. Awh, that is too cute! I love old post cards. I have a collections from a dad to his little girl from about 1908 till about 1912. It seemed his work took him away from home and she saved all their cards. I love reading them!
My grandfather had picked them up at a yard sale back in the 70's!

  2. Lori, thank you for posting this. I have my grandmother's old scrapbook from when she was a young girl. I suspect there are some old cards in there. I need to pull out this book and look!
Thank you for your suggestion. Hopefully I have figured this out.

  3. Beautiful card! I do the same thing with the census whenever I find someone of interest I can't help but do a census search. A few months ago I watched "The Miracle Worker" for about the 100th time. Could not help but do a search on Hellen Keller and I'll be darned there she was living in NY city along with Ann Sullivan. Did the same thing with Wyatt Earp. LOL!
