It is fall where I live and time to plant bulbs. Here is a bit of inspiration for you. I always am surprised in the spring when all these interesting flowers come popping up through the dirt. Tulips of the Netherlands
Oooh I love page 13... gorgeous with the water all around!! Love this. Tammy
ReplyDeleteCan anyone expain the "life" of a tulip for me?
ReplyDeleteWhen you buy bulbs...they are big..and you plant them and big beautiful tulips bloom...the next year..not so much..and each added year...the bulb splits adding a greater number of sad looking blooms....the quantity has destroyed the quality.
So...where do these big bulbs that make big beautiful blooms ...come to be? How are they "made"???
Beautiful Lori
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tulips!..Christine
ReplyDeleteOh, I love tulips. We don't do well with bulbs here in the desert. It doesn't get cold enough for them to winter over, but I love to look at them. Just gorgeous pictures. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh, these are just gorgeous photos. I love number 7 - those must be some happy cows, forget California lol. And those really dark purple ones that look almost black - breathtaking. What a beautiful tour - thanks Lori! Kathy
ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring me to go plant some bulbs. I have tulips, but daffodils seem to grow best in my yard. Perhaps the wild animals don't like to eat them as much. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to plant some bulbes too -- but I'll do daffodils -- they're the only ones that don't get eaten!
ReplyDeleteI know you're friends with Florida Sue - send her my best reagards -- I know she's feeling poorly, but I can't get access to her blog now.
I'm always so delighted to know there are folks who have luck with tulips. We plant bulbs nearly every year, but I swear the squirrels are on the roof taking coordinates :-). Needless to say we don't have a glorious spring display.
ReplyDeleteTulips are gorgeous flowers aren't they. They come up early here, as they do in southern B.C.
