This post was going to be for Wednesday but What's on Your Wall is gone for awhile. I decided to go ahead and put this out there today instead.
These two saws were a gift to my BB guy to hang in the cabin. I painted them. The inside of the cabin has had no work done to it really, not even walls so for now they are just hanging above the patio door.

Some time ago I posted this picture of the sun/moon medallion on my deck. I had several comments on how nice it was. I got it in Mexico and have never seen a similar one here.

When my BB guy and I came back from the trip to the Island last week this is what we found...

I am so sad. He was hanging on a hook with a plastic zap strap. I thought those suckers would hold forever but apparently not. There was a very windy day while we were gone. These are the big pieces. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put sun/moon together again.
That's a bummer Lori about the sun/moon thingee. You're very good at painting, the saws look great.
ReplyDeleteI have treasures hanging on the "zap strap" things.
ReplyDeleteThey'll hold forever, I tell myself with fingers crossed.
Think of this as another treasure-hunting opportunity as you get to shop for something new [old] to fill the space.
OH NO! What a shame -- and no way to piece and glue it back together? It could be Scarface Sun/Moon then.
ReplyDeleteThe saws are very nice -- you do good work!

Oh, the Wisconsin Northwoods girl in me LOVES that first saw with the snowy cabin scene, and YOU painted it???? WOW, you go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad about the broken sun/moon medallion. I'm over here giving you all the Awwwwwwwwwwwwww's I've got!
Love the two saws, they are both just gorgeous. Wow, how awful that the moon face is so broken. Very sad, it really was gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteSorry about your sun guy, he was gorgeous. Maybe he can be turned into something crafty, a mosaic? Love the saws, very creative.
ReplyDeleteIn response to your comments, yes I am trying to feel better, already up and moving, better than yesterday. Thankfully.
The cat, well.....he just helps himself to the food in the fridge. And the bowl of cat food on the kitchen floor. After all, he is king of the Catstle.

Lori - so sorry to see the destruction of your Sun/Moon!! Love your saws. Many years ago two of my friends kept telling me "anyone can tole paint". I didn't believe them -- until I took some lessons -- no where near as good as your artwork but I did surprise myself.
