METAMORPHOSIS MONDAY

Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch is hosting Metamorphosis Monday. It always has a fabulous turnout so don't forget to check out the many changes people have made. Make sure you leave a comment too. We all like to hear from you.

I has posted this picture of my birdie hotel a while back. It was pretty bland and the garden was empty. As the season progressed there actually was a bird nesting in there. he was in the heart shaped hole, second from the top. It probably wasn't the best place for her to nest because we come in and out of the front door right there. There were also wasps setting up residency in the topmost hole. I can't do anything about them without disturbing the birds. I never did see babies.
After a month or so you can see the Metamorphosis happening right before your eyes. There is a perennial Sweet Pea to the right of the bird house. The large green mound on the right is Autumn Joy Sedum. In front of that beside the light (useless LED) is a perennial Geranium and the purple, blue spikes of Ajuga.
Lets see what else is in there. Talk green spikes on the left are Lucifer Crocosmia, a white Calla Lily in the center and then another Sedum. There is a striped grass and the dry clump is a beautiful Gaura, you just can't tell yet. All the little purple flowers with the grassy leaves are Grape Hyacinth bulbs. There is a dried up looking Lavendar right in the foreground.
Jump forward to July and what happens....a wonderful Metamorphosis. The lavendar is just so fragrant. My Gaura is behaving like it always does, sprawling out over the walkway. I often come into the house with little pink flower petals stuck to my legs from brushing against it. It will bloom right into the Fall.

That is my Metamorphosis for this week. I would like to gratefully acknowledge the help I had in this from Mother Nature. Props for her.
