COOKING: Sushi (Yes I know it isn't cooked)

Well I will start off by saying I don't eat shellfish and I don't eat sushi. So why the post about it? Visually I think it is beautiful. It is art. My eldest does eat it on a regular basis much to the dog's delight because he usually saves her a piece of something. We are not in a large town but there are so many sushi restaurants within 5 minutes of here it is staggering. The resident (well he doesn't live here but he eats it here) expert goes to the one closest to my home and swears it is the best. Last night he had the Crispy Rolls, Tuna Tataki and the Scallop and Prawn skewers. I know many of you drool over this sort of thing so this one's for you. Enjoy.

  1. We love Sushi! It definitely is our favorite, and there are many good places around here also.

Lori, thanks for the kind comments, I had to do something, and lets hope that this is a good solution. I am still reading as many of my readers blogs as I can, just sometimes I don't always leave a comment.

    Looking forward to spring.

  2. Love love LOVE me some sushi! Now 10 years ago before I tried sushi - I would have have many negatives to say about the premise. But I caved one day & wowza - was I pleasantly surprised! It's now my fav food by far! Funny thing though, I'm not a big fan of just eating shrimp or lobster. Yeah they are ok, but not great. Now take said shrimp & shape it ever so loverly over some compacted rice with some wasabi - well now! You got a friend for life!

  3. I can't even wash out the pan when my husband cooks shellfish or I start to heave so I don't think I will be trying it. I guess there is sushi without the shellfish I could try but nothing raw. It's a texture issue. Uck.
