I read something today in the paper that I don't believe 100%. Is there really bamboo that won't overtake the whole garden and spread from one yard to the next? Bamboo that is also happy in a container. Can it be true?
It is such a beautiful plant and I have tried twice to grow it. The first was a dwarf variety that supposedly wouldn't spread. Ya right. Took a few years to dig that one out. Secondly I tried to grow a nice tall one in a big container. It didn't last more than a month before it just went downhill. I didn't dare compost it because with my luck it would suddenly make a comeback when I wasn't looking and it would take over the whole neighbourhood.
