This is my favorite piece. I painted it several years ago. The piece was designed by an artist named Pipka. I cut my own wood pieces too. He stands about 14 inches tall.
Ohhh my...what a pretty Santa!!! You're such a talented and creative lady!!! Great job on the woodworking, I'm definitely impressed...and the painting is fabulous!!! Thank you for sharing your tole "Old Father Christmas" with us!
I used to collect Santas and have many of them. Most are still packed from our construction, hopefully I'll get them all out of boxes before this Christmas!
Lori-I can't imagine the time it takes to do this--the details are exquisite! I love the textured paints of the sleeves and hood (I enlarged :) Beautiful!
You are talented! That Santa is beautiful. thanks for visiting my blog site. I'm an avid collector of old family photographs ... will share some later. My daughter keeps the family tree and our roots go back to Germany and Scotland. We think it is important to know our history, so you keep up the good work. Can't figure out where you are going, if you don't know where you came from! Love your site ... and thanks for visiting mine.

Lori the ARTIST! Your Santa is simply lovely and I know it took lots of brush strokes to bring him to life with the spirit of Christmas.
